Description:Greater Lynn Senior Services provides a wide range of social services for elders and people with disabilities -- information, transportation, meals, advocacy, homecare, housing, and more--for one reason: to help those 60 and older in Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Saugus and Swampscott live fuller, more independent lives, safely and with dignity.

Position Overview:
The IT Manager is responsible for all information technology and communications functions including the associated hardware and software. The IT Managerís responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing leadership and management to the IT department staff, managing the relationship with our network management consulting provider, making decisions and or recommendations, as appropriate, solving department organizational and staff issues, developing department procedures, representing the department at internal and external meetings.

Departmental management responsibilities include: establishing and maintaining an effective team of 4 IT Staff members, assigning and delegating duties and responsibilities to the team, ongoing mentoring, support, guidance and coaching to the IT team, providing development and training to IT Staff members to ensure the IT team remains current on GLSS operations and technology as well as industry knowledge and standards. The IT Manager will make recommendations for external training and development opportunities when needed and will conduct performance reviews and evaluation of direct reports and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.

The IT Manager manages application servers; enterprise applications; domain/user maintenance; networking components; telecommunications infrastructure; proprietary and nonproprietary applications; and desktop support. The IT Manager monitors all equipment and troubleshoots all areas of concern when required, and serves as the primary liaison to IT vendors. Manage and administrate all operating systems and their corresponding or associated software applications. Provide on-call technical support for all applications and hardware as needed. Analyze system or application usage and plan for growth or increases in network capacity. Assess need for any system reconfigurations or upgrades (minor or significant), make recommendations inclusive of cost/benefit and ROI analysis, as appropriate, and implement said reconfigurations/system upgrades, as required. Perform network and security audits. Maintain system backups and backup logs. Monitor and test server software performance and provide routine statistics and reports. To the extent possible, the IT Manager will anticipate future IT needs and participate in a rolling three year capital budget planning process.

Minimum Requirements:
At a minimum, the individual must have a Bachelorís Degree from an accredited college or university in an IT-related discipline, and 6 years of professional IT experience, with 2 years of direct supervisory experience; or an Associateís Degree (or equivalent technical school) and 8 years of professional IT experience, with 2 years of direct supervisory experience. Individual must have directly related experience in applications implementation, support, management, supervision and training. Experience with transportation-related applications is required. M.C.S.E. or M.C.S.A. certified and either A+ or Network + certified and Sequel certification required.

1. Crystal Reports, SQL Query Analyzer, SQL database management, Microsoft Office Professional applications and Adept StrataGen,
2. Proficient in support of all Windows desktop OS- XP, Vista, Windows 7
3. Proficient in support of Windows Server and Active Directory
6. Firewall administration experience
7. WAN/VPN experience
8. Microsoft SQL2000/2005 database management & query writing
9. Experience in Telecom System administrative support
10. Experience in network administration
11. Experience in database management
